Over the past eight years, the Pangolins have enjoyed much critical success as Arkansas' premiere professional steel drum band. Founded in 1999 by Charles Law as an outreach/educational group of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's percussion ensemble, the band has performed at a variety of venues from Pulaski County Days, Riverfest, Worldfest, clubs, private parties, benefit concerts and most notably as special entertainment for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra's season opening "block party" as part of the "Music Around the World" Family Series concert (2003-2004 season). |

The musicians in the band are as unique as the instruments they play. The nine-member group includes Arkansas Symphony Orchestra musicians, high school band directors, church music directors, musicians from other local bands and students from the UALR percussion department. This eclectic and diverse assembly adds a special flair to the music, with many arrangements written for the groups by its own members. The Pangolins perform everything from classical, pop, reggae, and Caribbean music to straight-ahead rock and roll. One thing each member has in common is a special love of steel drums and steel band music. The group is unique because the diverse background of its members has allowed it to crossover into other musical genres not normally associated with steel bands.
The members of the group also share a common bond and that is we believe making music is FUN. The Pangolins can add energy and excitement to any occasion. Just come listen and decide for yourself. Our schedule is updated often so you can be sure not to miss a performance.
